The annual number of recorded cases of bacterial food poisoning in England and Wales
has risen from around 10,000 per year in 1980 to around 50,000 in 1995. As many cases
go unreported this is undoubtedly just the tip of the iceberg. The considerable public
concern in the late 1980s about the increasing incidence of food-borne infection was
one of the principal factors which led to The Food Safety Act 1990. Food manufacturers
and producers under the act are required to show due diligence.
Precision Analysis can take care of all the microbiological aspects of your due diligence defence from designing an effective sampling regime to rapid reporting of high counts and positive results. |
An effective due diligence defence includes microbiological assessment of:

We can provide microbiological screening of various foods including meat products, poultry, pies, cheese, ready meals etc. Customer complaint samples can be analysed to assess the likelihood of a product being responsible for food poisoning and we can provide information as well as give advice on interpretation of results. For further information on the full range of microbiological tests and consultancy, please contact Steve Mount. |
